Glory LA Family,
I hope all of you are well during this difficult time. I know all of you have been greatly affected by this pandemic. And in these situations, there must be anxiety, worry, and fear in your hearts. And being locked down in your homes probably heightens some of these feelings. But as Christians I urge you to find peace by drawing near to the Lord. For the Lord deeply cares for you and what you are going through. Let us understand the times and seek His face and let us seek to find Him. And this is how we exercise our faith: that especially in times such as this, we choose to place our trust in Him, hoping in Him, relying upon Him by seeking Him through prayer. And as we cast away our fears, let’s take this time to recognize and remind ourselves who our God is. That He is a MIGHTY God, a God who is IN CONTROL even in the midst of chaos, and a God who IS LOVE, full of MERCY and GRACE.
At the same time, I want to remind you that as Christians we are prone to disease and suffering, sickness and death, so be wise and loving to your neighbors by looking out for the safety of others. But for us our hope goes far beyond just this life. And that is why we have such great HOPE because the PROMISE is for SALVATION. Eternal life through Jesus Christ!
Here are some practical ways we can deal with the quarantine:
• Keep a consistent routine. I know it’s tempting to relax at home
and watch Netflix all day but live out your day with purpose and diligence.
• Continue community living. Being isolated can cause more fear and
anxiety. Continue to gather with your friends and community on a
weekly basis through group chats and video meeting platforms.
• Engage with the Lord. Use the time that you have to seek the Lord through the Word and prayer. Read and meditate on His Word that you may be encouraged and lift up those
around you. And this IS the time to press in, through prayer, on behalf of our
government, city, and the world.
• Exercise is so crucial in maintaining mental health by releasing stress and tension, and keeps your body from feeling sluggish. YouTube is a great resource to find home workout routines.
Let us continue to have hope in the One who has the power to save, Jesus Christ!
